Faith Is Already The Beginning Of Eternal Life

See deep into eternity.

Words of wisdom from the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

God willed the diversity of his creatures and their own particular goodness, their interdependence, and their order. He destined all material creatures for the good of the human race. Man, and through him all creation, is destined for the glory of God. CCC, 353

God created everything for man, but man in turn was created to serve and love God and to offer all creation back to him. CCC, 358

Being in the image of God the human individual possesses the dignity of a person, who is not just something, but someone. CCC, 375

Of all visible creatures only man is “able to know and love his Creator.” He is “the only creature on earth that God has willed for its own sake,” and he alone is called to share, by knowledge and love, in God’s own life. It was for this end that he was created, and the fundamental reason for his dignity. CCC, 356

Faith is an entirely free gift that God makes to man. CCC, 162

Faith is a supernatural gift from God. In order to believe, man needs the interior helps of the Holy Spirit. CCC 179

Faith makes us taste in advance the light of the beatific vision, the goal of our journey here below. Then we shall see God “face to face,” “as He is.” So faith is already the beginning of eternal life. CCC, 163

Faith is a personal act – the free response of the human person to the initiative of God who reveals himself. But faith is not an isolated act. No one can believe alone, just as no one can live alone. You have not given yourself faith as you have not given yourself life. The believer has received faith from others and should hand it on to others. Our love for Jesus and for our neighbor impels us to speak to others about our faith. Each believer is thus a link in the great chain of believers. CCC, 166

God is at work in you!
