Never Underestimate the Power of The Sacrament of Reconciliation

An examination of conscience.

My Lord and Almighty God, Jesus My Savior, and Holy Spirit, My Inspiration and Guide,

I am here because I love you, I wish to accomplish Your will, and to beg pardon for the many offenses I have committed against You.  I acknowledge my many weaknesses and ask for your forgiveness and Your help in overcoming them, for it is my great desire to never offend you, for you have been so very good to me and are deserving of so much better from me.  

I apologize for my lack of self mastery, for my selfish, self serving, and worldly tendencies, for the times I have been uncharitable, for the times I have allowed the devil to tempt me to be prideful, self serving, vain, jealous, and angry, for having harbored malice in my heart, for being judgmental,  for the times I have spoken unkindly, complained, was slow to forgive, for the times I have spoken to others harshly, for being frustrated with certain people and situations, for the times I set a bad example, and most especially for the times I did not love, reverence, and trust You as I should. 

Please help me, Lord.  I am the often physically weary rope in the colossal tug-of-war between the forces of good and evil.  Give me the strength to persevere when it seems like I am being pulled apart.  Help me to listen for Your voice, follow your inspirations, trust You, and reverence your timing.  Help me to advance in the spiritual life so that your will may best be accomplished in me and through me.  Please also defend my purity, and my time alone with you and with my family.    

You said "Ask and you shall receive;"  and so now I ask you for your pardon for all of my sins, for your grace to help me resist the terrible torments of the devil, for (name)'s healing and conversion, and for the conversion of all those who are pro-abortion, beginning with (name) and leading to a domino effect that results in the most massive conversion of hearts within the pro-abortion movement the world has ever seen.  Sweet and gentle Jesus, truly Present in the Blessed Sacrament, please infuse our hearts with the graces needed to bring an end to legalized abortion and euthanasia in every nation on earth.

Thank You, my sweet and gentle Jesus.  I give myself entirely to You, and promise to love You and honor You, all the days of my life.
