What King Wounds His Soldiers Before Sending Them Into Battle?

The King of all kings, and Lord over all.
Gentle, humble, and merciful Jesus, Your Sacred Heart was torn open by a lance, and Divine Providence in turn created from It the most beautiful and meaningful waterfall in the history of creation.
Make our hearts like unto Thine!
"All Jesus Christ did, He did for us. His prayers, His tears, His watchings, His fasting, His preaching, His journeys, His conversations, His miracles-all those were for us."  ~ Saint John Vianney
Divinely human, weak, suffering, wounded, depleted, exhausted, annihilated and impaled on a Cross, You held back nothing, therefore God held back nothing and gave us Everything.
May we live, love, serve, suffer, and surrender in imitation of You, Jesus, for when we hold back nothing, God holds back nothing and gives us everything.
"By My Holy Face you will work wonders."  ~ Jesus to Sr. Mary of St. Peter

"There is no complete union of the soul with Jesus without penetration into the secret mysteries of the Heart of the Divine Master.  There it will find an ocean of love and an abyss of suffering.  Such a vision as this produces the "holy folly of love";  it fills the heart of man with divine burnings, and wounds so deeply that the soul pours itself, once and for ever, at the Feet of Him, Whom alone, henceforth it can love.  This, oh! my Master!  this is the union to which Thou dost lead that soul who wishes sincerely to love and suffer with Thee."  ~ Dom Pius de Hemptinne, A Disciple of Dom Marmion:  Letters and Spiritual Writings, p. 114.

GOD'S WOUNDED SOLDIERS LIVE, LOVE, SERVE, AND SUFFER
