Consider this method of praying for precious, immortal souls, which comes straight from the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The next time you pray, pray together with Jesus. You can either join Him in prayer, or ask him to pray with you.
Make your time praying together with our Savior even more meaningful and powerful by holding Jesus' Sacred Hands in yours, and then place the souls of those you are praying for within them. Hold them so carefully and lovingly as you and Jesus pray.
Meditate on Christ's Passion each day and your relationship with the Love of your eternal life will flourish as you obtain important graces for others. You can pray this way while making a Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament, while praying at home, during Eucharistic Adoration, while praying in church before and/or after the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and/or while praying the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary.
PRAY WITH JESUS IN THE GARDEN
Consider praying the Sorrowful Mysteries together with Jesus before the Blessed Sacrament in a chapel while holding vigil next to the confessionals. Do so with gratitude to our Savior and pray for all those who do not make sacramental confessions or do not make them often. Pray also for those who do make them. Everyone is in need of your prayers!
Begin by joining Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane.
UNITING OURSELVES WITH JESUS DURING HIS PASSION AND CRUCIFIXION WHILE PRAYING THE SORROWFUL MYSTERIES OF THE HOLY ROSARY
THE FIRST SORROWFUL MYSTERY
Each one of us can join Jesus and pray for others along with Him in the
Garden as His Passion begins. Kneel down (if physically able to, if
not, kneel down in your heart) on either side of Jesus and unite your four hands and also your two hearts.
THE SECOND SORROWFUL MYSTERY
During the second sorrowful mystery, stand by Jesus and hold His Sacred Hands once again, this time as He is scourged at the pillar. Join Him in prayer and intercede for the souls in your hands while unifying your suffering with His...
THE THIRD SORROWFUL MYSTERY
Hold Christ’s Sacred Hands as He is crowned with
thorns, and pray for every soul that Christ suffered for as His Precious Blood flows from the wounds in
His
Head. Those sacred wounds caused by the thorns open gateways of mercy for sinners to enter, gateways you see getting wider as the crown moves on His Sacred Head as you accompany Christ to the Cross, and as He travels along the Way of the Cross.
Note the patient suffering of Jesus, His meekness, humility, surrender, faith and trust in God the Father, and petition Him for strength for all the souls you hold in your hands.
THE FOURTH SORROWFUL MYSTERY
During the fourth sorrowful mystery, be unified with
Christ as He carries the Cross all the way to Calvary, and together with Him, hold the petitions of every sinner through all time. Feel Christ's Sacred Blood as it exits the wounds in His Hands, making yours sticky, and unify your Will with the Lord's as He thinks not of His mangled Flesh but of our salvation and sanctification.
THE CRUCIFIXION
Throughout the sorrowful mysteries, you joined hands with Christ’s
Sacred Hands while praying and interceding for the salvation and sanctification of others. Now you ask Jesus, "How are we going to hold hands?" From the Cross He shows you that as you pray each one of your hands holds a nail just as His do, and together you both hold mankind’s defiance in your hands. The
power of sacrificial love defeats the powers of evil, and the nails in your hands function like keys that unlock the chains
binding
the souls of sinners lost in darkness, one by one by precious, immortal one.
No matter where and how you pray, remember to pray for others every single day. Be sure to include all sinners, the dying, and the Holy Souls in Purgatory through all time. As you do so, hold hands with Jesus and place their precious, immortal souls within them. Cradle them, care for them, and envelop them in love and compassion that we just cannot fathom, because they need Jesus and they also need you.
