See Him? Welcome Him into your heart and allow Him to shine His light in you and through you.
For today's lesson, the Lord appears in the doorway of your room first thing in the morning.
He appears as light while at the same time appearing as a Man and dressed as a priest.
Why do you suppose Jesus has appeared to you in these two distinct ways?
Seeing our Savior this way may remind you of William Holman Hunt's famous painting called The Light of the World.
What a striking and meaningful image of Jesus presented in that image (more about that later).
Likewise, what striking images of Him are presented to you as you begin serving Him this day!
Likewise, what striking images of Him are presented to you as you begin serving Him this day!
Our Lord presents Himself at the entryway to your heart as our High Priest and also as the Light of
the World.
Jesus wants you to know that He is here. He stands
at the doorway of each one of our hearts as our Divine Physician, and illuminates the entryways
with His Divine and loving Presence.
Can you see Him? Welcome Jesus into your heart. Allow Him to shine His light in you and through you. God has a great purpose for each one of our lives from the very shortest to the very longest. He is so in love with us all.
GOD IS AT WORK IN YOU
After
the Lord appeared as Illuminating Light and as our Divine Physician, Jesus shows you one of your favorite saints. That person is standing in Christ's place in the doorway, and also is shown to you appearing in various doorways during his/her lifetime.
This is to be
taken literally and metaphorically, as your friend and mentor in heaven allowed God to work through him/her in so many ways during his/her lifetime.
This imagery can be generalized to everyone and his/her
mission. We are to stand in many doorways and bring Christ to
people, be Christ to people. Put yourself in Christ's place in that doorway; allow Him to illuminate you with His Divine light. Cast His light near, far, and wide. Cast His light everywhere.
GOD IS AT WORK IN HIS PEOPLE
To conclude the lesson, Jesus shows you the work of someone you know, work commissioned by God for the proper care of His people. Jesus presents this work in the doorway.
Whose work, what work, is He showing to you?
GOD WILL SHOW YOU THE WAY
Welcome Jesus into your heart and allow Him to shine His light in you and through you.
Go in His place to the doorways of the hearts of others; illuminate them with His love.
As doors gently open, warm each heart by properly caring for every person in imitation of Christ and Blessed Mother.
What work is He having you do?
WILLIAM HOLMAN HUNT'S "THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD"
The Light of the World (1853–54) by William Holman Hunt is a metaphorical painting that shows Jesus standing before a neglected door that has no handle. The door appears to have remained unopened for a very long time. Jesus patiently knocks on the door of the resident's heart. He appears as a beggar/King suffering His Passion and is crowned with thorns as He carries the Light of the World in His Sacred Hands. As Jesus submits His will to God the Father's most holy Will, for mankind's salvation and sanctification, He also respects the free will of every person and respectfully knocks on a door which can only be opened from the inside.
Allow the Master Carpenter to restore the entryway to your heart into proper working order.
Allow the Light of the World to come into your heart and illuminate you with His love and grace.
Allow the Divine Physician to care for you extravagantly.
Allow the Savior of your soul to love you lavishly.
Give yourself to our Lord completely in return, and promise to love and honor Him, all the days of your life.
