Encountering Saint Joseph and the Child Jesus on a Cliff Overlooking the Pacific Ocean

"Make St. Joseph the patron of your family and you will soon have tangible proof of his protecting hand.” ~ Saint Peter Julian Eymard

THE INCREDIBLE ENCOUNTER WITH SAINT JOSEPH AND THE CHILD JESUS ON A CLIFF

While in California just days before your daughter's wedding, you left the hotel and crossed the street to walk the spectacular path and take pictures along the high cliff overlooking the
majestic Pacific Ocean.

A kind man at the hotel stated that not too far to the right from the street crossing there was a way down to the beach.

The cliff was so high that pelicans flew by at eye level.

The walk was so beautiful; the high cliff was covered by various flowers and there was a palm tree and cacti and formations in the cliff.

Men surfed in the waves as a few people walked along the beach and along the path along the cliff's rim.

You expected to find a safe and secure way down to the beach but instead, there was a makeshift way down that included outward-leaning "steps" of impacted sand and wood, and closer to the beach sand-covered boulders.

A young man headed down just before you.

Following a few discerning looks at the way down at different angles, you began a very careful descent.

The young man continued making his way down before you.

At the bottom, you caught sight of a man walking along the ocean with a young boy.

As you continued your very slow descent, holding on to what the cliff made available at each step, you could see that the man and the child began ascending the cliff along the same pathway.

At one point the young man stopped, and he did not go any farther.

Instead, he stood in place and gazed out toward the ocean.

Meanwhile, the man and the boy continued climbing up the cliff.

You had stopped moving like the young man, concerned about the safety of making the descent.

You also wondered how the man and the boy were able to make their way up the cliff with such ease.

When the man and boy reached where you had stopped, you asked the man if the way down was safe to travel.

He very calmly and kindly counseled you to not go any further.

He said the way down was too dangerous, and he very calmly but adamantly reiterated his counsel to you at least three times.

While listening and taking his advice, you were in awe of the concern that this stranger and father clearly felt for your welfare.

All three of you made your way up to the top of the cliff and there on the pathway at the top, the man and you continued speaking.

As you did so, the boy who was quiet and peaceful sat on the edge of the cliff.

Not once did the boy speak or interrupt his father.

While speaking with the man, you glanced to your left several times there facing the ocean to the boy sitting on the edge of the cliff and silently looking out over the majestic sight before you all.

You wondered why he allowed the boy to sit on the edge of the cliff and what made the boy feel so safe to even do so.

You wondered why the boy was not in school.

The kind man told you that the boy is his son and that he is seven years old.

Many times you thanked the man for his caring concern for your welfare, for you had really hoped to travel down the cliff to reach the ocean.

You asked the man for his name and he replied, "Victor."

A victor is a person who defeats an enemy or opponent in battle.

It was only later that it was revealed to you that you had an encounter with Saint Joseph and the Child Jesus. Our Lady had sent them to look after you.

Not long after that revelation, you were stunned to see that you had actually captured them in the image taken of the way down to the ocean from the cliff that day.
