And so this took place while suffering with another infected tooth that was halfway through a crown repair but had been troubled for a while, as it felt like the infection went systemic and a root canal was needed.
While suffering through the weekend, a little new secular alarm clock arrived to replace the one that preceded it.
It took a while to figure out how to program it Sunday evening, prior to a ten hour Monday at the clinic and needing to call the endodontist when they opened at 9 in the morning from the clinic where you work, to try and get in right away.
Concentrating has been so difficult for almost a week, and the symptoms of the infection had been increasing for several weeks.
Incredibly sore across the lower back, unfathomably sore back of the neck, difficulty walking and moving, trouble concentrating.
More chiropractic adjustments than usual needed.
What’s going on now, you had wondered.
An antibiotic was started on Thursday night after tanking dramatically and rapidly during the week, following the start of a crown repair on that back molar Tuesday afternoon, and by Saturday it was clear that the back molar was the problem and needed intervention in a hurry.
Improvement was not going to happen on its own.
So while taking your time to figure out how to set the alarm clock Sunday night, you thought it best to test it out to make sure the alarm had been set correctly.
THE CHOICE OF ALARM SOUNDS
The instructions said there was a choice of alarms.
How fun.
So somehow you got to the point where they began playing, each one in turn.
There was the typical beeping, and other typical choices, and then the following began playing:
“JOYFUL JOYFUL WE ADORE YOU.”
And that is the alarm that awakened you in the morning to start a very busy day that would hopefully include a root canal to remedy the tooth and residual hurting all over.
While writing this at the endodontist clinic, waiting on standby for an emergency root canal (thanks to them for fitting me in to their already full schedule), the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is very nearby: Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration on your phone.
“JOYFUL JOYFUL WE ADORE YOU, SWEET, KIND, GENTLE, AND COMPASSIONATE JESUS OUR DIVINE REDEEMER, DIVINE RESTORER, DIVINE REMEDY FOR ALL, DIVINE PHYSICIAN, DIVINE TEACHER, DIVINE FISHER OF MEN, AND THE DIVINE BRIDEGROOM OF EVERY SOUL.”
"By My Holy Face you will work wonders,
appease the anger of God,
and draw down mercy on sinners."
